Lookbook//September

Dungarees/Topshop//T-shirt/Asos

This month has been rather wonderful despite my car breaking. Snuggling down, rearranging, pie-baking (from scratch!), record playing, dancing, hibernating, eating, tea drinking and enjoying the first throws of a new season. We get our winters quickly in England and seem to wait forever for Summer. We've been eating a lot of steaming baked potatoes and hot, hot beans. Molly says 'ooh very hot, mmm blow mommy.' I've been living in the above dungarees, cardigans and of course, pyjamas.

September has been wonderful and yet, today I actually had a pretty rubbish day. Today and Thursday were pretty rubbish days. (Friday's I work so I don't really get a chance to have any emotions ha!). Today I was a rubbish mummy, a rubbish friend, a rubbish cook, a rubbish cleaner-upper and generally rubbish person. Funny thing is, I have no reason to feel rubbish. We have a lovely relatively clean home. My car is fixed- and we're looking to buy a new one soon enough. My Nain will be out of hospital all fingers crossed on Monday. And plenty of things to look forward to (my Birthday and the booze cruise to Ostend). I have a sneaky feeling it's to do with all the sugar I've been eating recently. On wednesday I gorged on chocolate with Jamie in response to all the news that my car needs a lot of work done (hence the new car) which would explain my feelings on Thursday. And yesterday at work I ate a ton and I mean a ton of sweets left over from our Charlie event for Royal Marsden. Sugar slump. I should be able to pull myself out of it though right? I'm a bit of a slave to a slump unfortunately. It's something I really want to change. In fact I even tried to meditate myself out of it while Molly took a nap which resulted in a cry and my taking a nap! When we woke up just as slumpy I didn't even go for the autumn walk I had planned, and I mean I had this walk planned all week because Jamie spent the day at an away game. We stayed in and I was the most rubbish version of myself.

So, tomorrow NO MORE SLUMPING. We are going to have lovely Sunday all three of us and take the dog for a big walk :) ..And I won't be eating any sugar for a week! Discalimer: I will most definitely be eating some form of sugar, I am an addict.

Lookbook//Summer

My lookbooks seem to only happen if I have Molly to pose with look how tall she is! Then again I am very little ha. I seem to only have two dresses on rotation this summer and this is one of them. It's so light I can have it handwashed and dried in just over an hour. Just what I need with a sticky baby and dog. Though if you're going to order it bear in mind I bought it in a size 6 and it's still a little too oversized to be 'oversized'. Don't ask about the shoes, my sandals and I keep falling out in this heat- blister central. Comfort for feet takes precedent in this weather. I've even had to retire my trainers- it's just too hot!! Molly and I are cleaning today.. I've had it brought to my attention that I am a slob. I already knew this I'm a reader not a cleaner but I really don't have a deadline related excuse any more. Plus I currently only work two days a week- that leaves quite a few days left to you know, hoover. Hope everyone's having a lovely week. And you're not spending sunny days cleaning ;) I wanna move already!

Lookbook// Spring Garden Blossoms

On a rainy day like today, it's nice to remember days like this. We took these a few weeks ago, maybe months, I'm not sure- time is a blur right now. Anyway, the blossom was still blossoming (I think it lasted a grand week?) and we still needed cardigans but SUN, oh hello sun. If the uk was winter for ten months of the year, but really hot, dry sunshine for two I would be so happy. Wouldn't that be great? I'd love to migrate for 8 weeks every year until I was sick of the constant bright heat. I hated the summer as a child, but I recall long hot weeks. It seems we've lost those now, or maybe they were never there. Klaus got a bit wet earlier so he's sat in front of the fire (I know Jamie will kill me- the fire in MAY!). There are so many things I'd like to do before 2013 is up, I'm not sure where to start. Urgency is quite enjoyable when you think about it. It keeps you moving. We have lots to do and not quite enough time to do it. Live with urgency and great love of what you do. Tonight Molly and I are partying with the girls and teen-movies, tomorrow Jamie will be home and safe. I am so proud. I have what I need. I love what I have.

Lookbook: Batman and Dogger.

As we've been blanketed with another inch of snow today, I felt it appropriate to post mine and Klaus' snowy lookbook.. but weather, please no more 'Nough'!

I'm so in love with this jumper by A Question Of. Jamie got it for me for Christmas it was a complete surprise I hadn't even come across the brand. It's a strange sort of cropped length but I love it. Underneath, worn as a skirt is an old Topshop sundress. This was Klaus' first and only time in the snow during our last snowfall. We didn't take him on our family walk a few weeks ago as he's so little he can't hold his heat very well. But when I was taking these he ran out the back door to me and it was up to his nose! SO cute. I might take him for a little stroll in it later, Molly seems pretty keen and already has her wellies on this morning.

Happy Monday :)

Lookbook: Snowy Mint.

Hurrah!! The snow is finally melting! I'm so happy, that stuff is LETHAL- yesterday Molly and I took a fall while I was carrying her. Fortunately I took the brunt of it but I felt awful about it. These pictures were taken last week and since I took over 200 of us in the snow I thought I'd break these up as an outfit post. My one for January whoo! So this is what I wore in the snow featuring my favourite girl.
Dress, Primark// Jumper, Zara// Coat, Topshop// Hat, Penfield// Socks, H&M

Lookbook,, Paris Toddlersuit.

I'm beginning 2013 with an outfit post I took and never published in March last year! Gosh, baad blogger. I have decided to attempt to do a lookbook post once a month. I may do more, I may skip a month but I'm going to put it on my list of things to do in 2013. I call this my Paris playsuit because it's the romper I lived in during the summer when I was pregnant and of course the time we ran around Paris for three days at the Trade Shows. The cardigan is my favourite cardigan ever from Madewell (plllease bring a store to the UK not that I could afford it!) The boots are very old Topshop, back when their shoes were made to last. This year I am SO looking forward to being able to wear milkmaid braids again. My hair has been too short since June and I am desperate for a new do that isn't a topknot.. though, long live the topknot ;) Today I am mostly writing essays and finally sorting out my car- MOT AND Road Tax, it's an expensive day! I wish I was making Molly's photo album instead- my instagram prints just arrived. Back to the grind 5 more months, 5 more months!
*Note, I feel a little uncomfortable with the whole taking pictures of myself thing. It's what stopped me from posting these last year but Carrie, Rumi Neely and Kelly do it so effortlessly. I guess practice, make-up and TIME, haa!
