Lookbook//September

Dungarees/Topshop//T-shirt/Asos

This month has been rather wonderful despite my car breaking. Snuggling down, rearranging, pie-baking (from scratch!), record playing, dancing, hibernating, eating, tea drinking and enjoying the first throws of a new season. We get our winters quickly in England and seem to wait forever for Summer. We've been eating a lot of steaming baked potatoes and hot, hot beans. Molly says 'ooh very hot, mmm blow mommy.' I've been living in the above dungarees, cardigans and of course, pyjamas.

September has been wonderful and yet, today I actually had a pretty rubbish day. Today and Thursday were pretty rubbish days. (Friday's I work so I don't really get a chance to have any emotions ha!). Today I was a rubbish mummy, a rubbish friend, a rubbish cook, a rubbish cleaner-upper and generally rubbish person. Funny thing is, I have no reason to feel rubbish. We have a lovely relatively clean home. My car is fixed- and we're looking to buy a new one soon enough. My Nain will be out of hospital all fingers crossed on Monday. And plenty of things to look forward to (my Birthday and the booze cruise to Ostend). I have a sneaky feeling it's to do with all the sugar I've been eating recently. On wednesday I gorged on chocolate with Jamie in response to all the news that my car needs a lot of work done (hence the new car) which would explain my feelings on Thursday. And yesterday at work I ate a ton and I mean a ton of sweets left over from our Charlie event for Royal Marsden. Sugar slump. I should be able to pull myself out of it though right? I'm a bit of a slave to a slump unfortunately. It's something I really want to change. In fact I even tried to meditate myself out of it while Molly took a nap which resulted in a cry and my taking a nap! When we woke up just as slumpy I didn't even go for the autumn walk I had planned, and I mean I had this walk planned all week because Jamie spent the day at an away game. We stayed in and I was the most rubbish version of myself.

So, tomorrow NO MORE SLUMPING. We are going to have lovely Sunday all three of us and take the dog for a big walk :) ..And I won't be eating any sugar for a week! Discalimer: I will most definitely be eating some form of sugar, I am an addict.

IT'S OFFICIAL!

I've finished second year!!!!
And so to celebrate I'm spending the afternoon in bed, making lists,
painting my nails and watching Harry Potter.
Pretty darn good!

So, a summer wishlist.
The glasses to go with all our summer outfits,
the leggings to brighten up outfits on a chillier day (I also want them in mint!)
the hat for a summery twist on old outfits,
the necklace because it is perfect,
and THOSE Nike's.

I'm gutted I wasn't as prepared as last year,
LAST year Liberty's Nikes S/S collection came out
I ordered my beautiful hightops that morning.
I shall forever regret not grabbing these PERFECT Airs!!!
It's also making me SO angry they are now all over ebay for £150!
Anyone willing to sell me a pair in a size 3 or 4 for £90
please let me know.. I'm a bit desperate haha!

Blue Waffle.

Today I had a date with Molly to get Jamie’s birthday presents and I wore my new favourite jumper out of the house. So far it’s had a few brushes with death due to Molly’s chocolate hands, and a curry, but I’m quickly learning to be a little more careful! I wish I’d bought it in peach too now.  So snugly.

When we got home Molly was all shopped out and had a nap so I tried out my new remote :) Ross has moved out, although he still has a mattress to get rid of so I can't set it up yet but I put the better lighting to good use. I'll do a decorating post no doubt at some point, I don't want to clutter it like I have the rest of the house. On the bottom pictures I’m sat on Molly’s new lady-bird toy!! It’s so cool I can’t wait for her to use it! I can’t believe it’s her birthday in eleven days!! So much to do. We’re having a party :) Any DIY party suggestions? We're baking and making bunting.

Jumper, Hair Lily, Socks and Boots- Topshop, Shirt- Miss Selfridge, Leggings- ASOS Maternity! (c/o my sister when I was pregnant, hehe)

The Owl And The Pussycat

I bought these Owl lipsticks from Urban Outfitters in NY because they were so pretty! I’d say if you wanted to wear them and take them out, the palest shade is a pretty great match to my natural lip colour and wears like a dream. However the lid comes off easily in my bag so they will be staying on my dressing table for now. They look so good with my gorgeous Paul And Joe cat lipstick I bought as a pick-me-up when I was pregnant!

Everyone has been going on about Paul And Joe's new Meow collection, and I'm not gonna lie, I may have to put in a cheeky order on ASOS with my student discount. It's so beautiful!

Which are your favourites?

Birds, collars and cake.

Yesterday Molly and I went for a cake date with Lindsay and Sarah at a garden centre in the middle of nowhere. Leicestershires countryside is really beautiful, we need to appreciate it more and take Moo out for some more trips. Molly has just cut her ninth and tenth tooth in the space of a week, clever girl, so I felt she deserved a whole brownie to herself. I think she appreciated it! I forgot my camera so I didn't get any snaps unfortunately, I need a camera outing specific bag.

Molly wore a vest from H&M that I customised with scraps of Liberty (I think) print fabric from my mother. I will do a DIY for it at some point, it’s so cute I’d wear it myself!  I wore my new Nadinoo dress from Jamie :) I fell in love with the fabric but never thought I could afford it, such a lovely surprise. I also love the bird print shirt, I wish I could buy it all!

Getting a picture of Molly when she is constantly moving and into EVERYTHING is getting harder!! I know I keep saying it but bring on better lighting and the summer! It’s Molly’s first birthday next month, I have so much to organise and a hand-in due too! It’s come around so fast, I just want to slow time down a bit, or have my tiny new born back for a little.

As you can see I need to make room in the shed for my bike! I quietly took some quick pictures of the dress in the kitchen when Molly had her post-cake nap. I am in love with this dress, I've promised Jamie I will wear often it in lots of different ways as it cost so much, so be warned this is a print you will be seeing a lot!

Double dresses

I'm a pretty big fan of the cold. I grew up in North Wales and it was the windiest, coldest, wettest place on earth. Leicester cold is unbelievably mild to me, perfect layering weather, or so I thought. Lately it's been brutal. Each morning I've wanted to stay in bed, not even think about wearing anything other than my patchwork pyjama trousers and a thick cardie. Well, today was no exception except I had a ton of stuff to do, so I mann'd up and put Molly in her bouncer while I showered and by some miracle GOT DRESSED. My ingenious idea of wearing 'double dresses' kept me toastie all day :) I have the underneath TFNC dress in nude as well as mink, I bought them in the summer for £15 each! Half price, perfect excuse to get both.

I'm sorry for my face, I don't know why I'm apologizing for my face, it's my expressionless face! But I'm dealing with a pretty intense cough at the minute, I'm not sleeping although that came about before the cough, and my nose is like a tap, so I do look a bit drained and grumpy.

That awkward moment when I didn't focus my camera.

The peterpan collar dress- TFNC, the breton dress- UO, the jacket- H&M, the velvet shoes- Topshop, the crochet bow- Forever 21, Snood- ASOS, Knit handwarmers/mittens- My mother made me these, she owns a wool shop and can knit ANYTHING!

GOD I love her!
Sorry this isn't better quality, I didn't set it up for Jamie and he knows nothing about cameras! I'm lucky I got a tripod, he was getting rather bored of photographing me (he's only done it twice!!)
