The Golden Wedding Anniversary

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary Nain and Taid!
There's a million things I could say.. have tried to say but I want to leave it at this;
there's a generation missing in this photo, but our hearts couldn't of been fuller of him.
Cheers to another 50 ;)

Snow Day,,

Molly's snow day last year wasn't quite as snowy! Though my camera seemed to do better.. Anyhow, you'll have to forgive the blue nature of these, it's the best I could do with the software that comes with. How cute is that little hat??! This was before we got the lethal ice. Well it's all gone and yesterday we had lotss of rain. It feels like England again. I'm working today, doing homework this evening and then going out. It's a busy week, so if I don't blog again, happy Tuesday :)

Absence,,

It's been a long week in our house, Molly is teething hard and yesterday gave up on napping all
together! For a baby that naps 3 hours a day it was a LONNG 14 hour day. The 5.30/6am starts are
pretty tough sometimes, as are the teething tears, however, today was a better day, I got dressed (though
I didn't wear a bra or make-up, swings and roundabouts). And last night Chaz and I went to see Snow
White And The Huntsman which I really enjoyed! Much better than Mirror Mirror, though HOW
much is it like Princess Mononoke in the fairy forest!? And HOW much like Howl is the queen when
she transforms back from the crows!? Something to consider..
SO, I took these with our tripod before Molly became a teething mess (at least these are the last two of a full set!!)
I kinda like them :)
I love the face Molly is pulling at the chicken ;)

Classic Hill Family Photo,,

I love my family.
Here we are, the Hill's, three generations. We are of course missing generation 4,
but I like to think my papa was there willing THESE photo's.
They are badly timed. The settings are all wrong. They are not perfect. They are not 'frame-worthy'.
But it's us. And it is real. And I love them.
Lots more to post from our day, but these made me chuckle.
Happy Wednesday :)

Over The Weekend..

This weekend has been largely revolved around food and I'm not complaining!
Food Related Post #1
The Dinner Date.
Jamie's on a cooking kick and last night made us a Gino D'Acampo dish.
We never eat at our kitchen table and since we have a rather tiny kitchen,
thought it was about time to make use of the furniture that takes up half the space.
We are aiming to eat at it at least twice a week and each month choose a cookbook
to select meals from for our food shop and give it a review.
We may even make a feature of it on here :)
It was nice to sit opposite each other at a table as opposed to opposite ends of sofa,
food on our laps in front of the television. I'd highly recommend it, especially if you have a baby
-It's a good way of having a conversation that doesn't revolve around poo!
Jamie has become quite the cook, considering when we first met he lived off turkey dinosaurs!
Bonus for me :)

Recipe can be found here I added mini baked potatoes as I can't abide meat without them
..I'm my grandfathers daughter! (I think it's a British post war thing)

Finger Paint!

This week Molly and I made finger paint from this recipe.
It's pretty easy just add flour, sugar and water over a hob until smooth
allow it to cool and add the food dye!
I must admit I as too excited to let it go completely smooth.
I was dubious as to how good it was for Molly but she seemed to
enjoy eating and playing with it (mostly eating..)
Next time I'll add more food dye to get a stronger print :)

..once Molly tired of the paint she was in the cupboards!

Easter 2012.

Again, last Easter was rather neglected as we were still getting used to tiny newborn Molly,
I had a million hand-ins and we were getting ready to move house. This year we had a little
time so last night I made Molly some little ears! I love them, here's the tutorial, I saw it linked
on Kelli's blog. Next year, or next time we have a dress up night out I shall be making some
for me too! Molly had a little basket full of treats and little hair clips I've been making her.
Her Aunty and Uncle got her the most lovely personalised egg, and Jamie and I got her a few
mini lindt bunnies. They are my favourite, my mum used to get me one every year :)
(Do excuse my messy kitchen)
Molly had two baths today! She's become rather a messy eater lately, but it did mean she got to
wear two Easter outfits :) We had a few sunday visits planned for friends and family but in the end
didn't even leave the house, though the Easter Bunny struck again in the form of grandparents and
Molly got some more white chocolate! I won't need to get her any pudding for months.
It was nice to make a little Easter effort, I'm going to try a little harder with family days but it's ever so
enjoyable. Right, time to try and sleep as I have a busy week and a lot of writing to do next week.
Universities and babies- who knew it would be such hard work!
-Bring on the dog!

Snow Day!

OK, so I may of taken these last time it snowed in February! But as we're having this freak
April Snow shower I'd post them today :) We took them while on a walk to Jamie's parents
for sunday lunch. Molly was very puzzled by the snow in February, this time around she
sang at the snowflakes and smiled, though we stayed sheltered inside as Molly currently has
a cold. I forgot to update my blogger- she does not have chicken pox! It was a false alarm, but
at least we are now prepared for when they do hit :)
