Christmas Portrait.

(The best of a blurry bunch but I love it!)

We finally got some Christmas portraits, before the festive feelings dissipated!

Update on the new house, we have the coldest house on earth. I'm wearing slippers! For those who don't know, I have the hottest feet on the planet. But fires man, open fires <3

Boxing Day aka SNOW DAY!!!

So after a rather long and exhausting few days, Boxing Day felt like a bit of an anti-climax. Christmas day wasn't quite as cheery as it usually is and I was feeling a bit like maybe I hadn't created as much magic for Molly as I would have liked to. Then again I think it was more that she was still unwell and unsure in our new home (she's still not warmed to it really). Then... it snowed! I was SO excited to look out the window and see a white boxing day!!! I dressed Molly up and told her I had a surprise. She looked at me suspiciously and asked if it was rain.. I told her it was better than rain. SNOW she gasped!

We put on our coats. I could only find one baby mitten so she wore one mitten and a sock on her hands and we ran outside! She stayed with me until her hands were 'chilly'. Then we enjoyed our tea before bed. I had my second Christmas dinner. It was so worth it getting a larger turkey crown just for the extra.
I think I'll call him Melvin.

Christmas Day.

We had a slow Christmas morning, Jamie and I were both exhausted. After prolonging the stocking opening in bed for as much as possible we built a fire downstairs and unwrapped our wonderful gifts under the tree. Thank you friends and family :)
We had both family over which was great for Molly as I spent my time in the kitchen and Jamie's stomach flu presented at dinner time and he was confined to bed for the rest of the day! Though I must say, my roast potatoes were amazing, thank you my wonderful sister for the perfect recipe ;) I didn't get many pictures of the day, cooking and eating took priority but we will be getting our annual tree photo before we take it down. I am determined.

Merry Christmas Everyone - I hope you had a perfect day!

I've never seen a child more in love with Mousetrap.. she even sings it a song!

Christmas Eve: We moved in five days ago!

This picture is a reminder not to leave all the wrapping until Christmas Eve. However I think I have an excuse since all the gifts were safe in my in-laws attic until a couple of days before!

On Christmas Eve (I've backdated this to the 24th) Molly noticed that our tree didn't have a star so despite only moving in 5 days before we decided to fish out the glitter and get our make on.. excuse the dining room I have mentioned that this house is a project right ;) we also managed to fit six adults around two tables wedged together! I'm looking forward to getting these projects finished and getting some real furniture. Hohoho.

December Festivities

Packing a whole house down whilst unsure of a moving date does not help in getting one to feel festive!

However I have been trying to get Molly in the mood as she has been quite anxious about leaving behind 'our lovely house'. Moving in the summer is much more fun I can tell you..

We visited Gullivers Kingdom with nursery. It was very cold but a really good day! Molly was a little unsure of Father Christmas and he asked her if she was good a few too many times despite us both saying that she had been! She was so pleased with her awful box of plastic though. I had tried to convince her to get the art set but she was determined to get the 'princess box'. She stroked it the whole coach ride home.

After the maddness of rides and Santa we went to see the Panto. When they asked for a volunteer Molly was chosen and went up on stage all by herself!! No prompting or help needed <3 I have never been so proud of my confident, sweet girl. We are the luckiest parents in the world.
As our moving date got put back from December the 12th to the 19th, we decided to put up our tree as Molly kept asking why our house wasn't decorated but the rest of the houses in the street were. To get us in the mood we put up the tree and made some Christmas cards. I also managed to get my hands on the Playmobil advent calender this year. It wasn't as easy as previous years and it wasn't as cheap but a few days into December we got it! Molly was very pleased but after the first day of opening six boxes she was put out to have to go on with only one at a time. I might start a Christmas card sweatshop in here...

December (almost)

This is my festive post as we can't decorate until we move house (which will hopefully be sooner rather than later) I'll talk more about moving soon but I'm scared about putting it out there just in case anything falls through. Please keep fingers crossed.

SO. I may have already bought Molly's Christmas and New Years Eve dresses! But if I had any pennies I would buy for me, the red skirt for Christmas day (I'm cooking for 8, possibly 10 so lets be honest, I'll probably be in my pjs!) and this beautiful white number for NYE (both from Topshop)

Anyone feeling festive since we can start opening advent Calenders on Monday!?

I'm off to Budapest tonight for a long weekend with the ladies of the family.. Culture and Christmas markets here we come!
