Cheers to the weekend// one

This is the first weekend I've had at home in a while. Although we popped out and had visitors it felt like we did nothing in a good way.

We had a first birthday. But a few extra little things I want to note down;

Margaux taking her first steps tonight!!!!!! Thank you Aunty Chaz for the beautiful walker. This little miss now needs some shoes!

Molly carrying her baby sister to her birthday presents.

Margaux Rocking her arms in the air while daddy dances and sings.

Molly and Margaux kissing on the sofa at Nanny's

Molly snuggling in at bedtime tonight while we read The BFG. We don't get enough of this so I really love putting her to bed at night just us two.

Margaux 'brrrr'ing her new toy car trainer thing on her birthday. Then doing the same today at Nanny's with the little people cars.

Baking and dancing with Molly. She also helped wash up which was the cutest thing ever.

And Margaux, cuddling and loving on Lotso-huggin-bear!!! It was so sweet, she kept rocking and patting him then kissing and cuddling him and saying ahhh as she patted his back again.

Dancing to Shake it off with Margaux and 'Fat cat Chloe' aka Molly.

Sometimes it's nice to all be at home together without the interruption of work and routine. Even if we're all doing our own thing it's just nice to have the house full.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Seventh of June.

(Notes from my phone)
7 June. I had the most perfect day today. Molly woke me up and we made a cave under the duvet. She was my puppy and there were monsters outside. Then we shared breakfast in her room- she didnt leave my side while I made it. Since we'd been dancing in the kitchen, I brought our radio up with us. After breakfast I ready her and Miffy a book when Roar (Katy Perry) came on- so we had a dance party in her bedroom. She insisted on shutting the curtains and having Miffy on. I gave her the flower crown my niece and sister chose for her. Then we went outside and played with her new chalk- her gift from Cardiff. After we covered some slabs in pictures we got the paints outside and made some invitations for our 'rock' party! We painted the rocks ready for their fashion show. Jamie took some pictures of us in the garden, I wore my flower crown too. After dinner and a long day of play we had a long bath just us two. Before bed I painted her nails and chatted about our perfect day together 💜 I love her so much. I'm not ready to let go of her as my only yet. Having said that I'm already so in love with this violent little baby  I know I'm already sharing my heart between these girls of mine. I hope they both know that I love every inch of them. Naughty or good, I'll treasure their every breath until I have the bad fortune of leaving them 💙

My Girl.

Wedding selfies, before we went to Jamie's cousins reception.

Running around after Molly got a little exhausting, and I did think wow this would be so much easier if we'd got a sitter (we don't actually have a baby sitter and rarely leave Molly at night). But when I took her into the disco and she nuzzled her head into mine while we danced to the Killers, just her and me, I was reminded that I'm so lucky to experience everything with her, and not only that but through her eyes.

I love being a mother to a girl. I often wonder what kind of relationship I'd have with my child if Molly had been a boy. She's a tough girl for sure, she's strong, loves mud and despite intervention from other sources I seem to have kept her into thinking spiders are cool and not scary. She's also obsessed with long hair, ponies and dresses. So I think we have a good balance between dinosaurs and tutus.

I often wonder what sort of relationship we will have as she grows up. At the moment she's a total mummy's girl, and I really want to hold on to that. She's my best friend, I hope she feels she can always come to me. And I look forward to taking her away for mother-daughter weekends and trips for the rest of our lives. We're going to Birmingham for the day soon and later on in the month to Wales and I can't wait. She's the perfect companion.

Losing a parent so young has made me completely paranoid I might not get to be there for her growing up, and I suppose this blog is a bit of a love-letter to her to accompany her scrapbook. So if I'm extra soppy (if anyone still reads this) I'm sorry. She's just so great.

It's Spring.

EDIT: It's now July.. I never published this. It dates back to April 11, but I'm posting it now- July 22 because I don't want it to get lost in the abyss. I don't know why I never hit publish. The photo is unrelated but taken in April 2014.

It's been a month again. Maybe more. You know, blogging used to feel like using my favourtite style of biro on a wad of my favourite blank paper. Not so much recently.

I have a million half started blog posts and then, nothing to add to it.

The first few months of 2014 have been spent working and days in with my girl taking things slow. I'm loving three, we have baths, long chats in bed, she helps me do everything and sings & dances with me, all the things you can do with a best friend. I love it. I wish I could bottle this- I don't want her to pull away when she gets her own friends haha! Yes I will be the awkward mum joining in during sleepovers.. Everyday feels like a sleepover with Molly :)

We've had visitors from all over which has been lovely. Molly's confidence with our friends is really nice to see. I know she's gonna be ok with the trust thing. Which is a relieving feeling.

Molly has finally got chicken pox. We thought she had it a few years ago but then it turned out she didn't, she was just spotty haha! This time is for reals. And she's completely not bothered, just a little stressed out by the cream. We watched Frozen 4 times yesterday.. so I'm loving it haha.

I'm looking forward to;
- Having some of my pictures 'published'
- Starting my sketchbook
- Finishing this scarf
- Easter
- Easter cakes
- A new lawnmower
- Purging our home some more
- Finishing my book and starting a new one
