Today,,

While I watch Coco Before Chanel in bed.
I had planned to go shopping today after I'd rang up
places and people to pay bills etc, but then I checked my bank balance,
budgeted and decided to stay home..
-One of THOSE days.
Any job suggestions that leave our evening and weekends free?
-that pay me super lots to only work one day a week?
while Molly keeps her bond with the childminder?
(I couldn't bear to have her away from me any more, it's hard enough during term-time)
No? I'd better start making and selling.
This afternoon I'm going to brainstorm ideas and work it all out

Also, I love how these two have co-ordinated- Pink! is the colour of May it seems :)

Making me smily, currently.

A few memories making me smile from yesterday..
1. This photo of Molly and I taken yesterday before we went to Pizza Hut to stuff ourselves. She's so cute!
2. Feeling extra motherly. After we had lunch we went to do our weekly shop, while Jamie was paying for it I picked Molly up out of the trolly to discover she was wet. Something that hasn't happened in ages! Well she had drank a full bottle at lunch so I grabbed a nappy out of the new pack we'd just bought and took her to the toilet. She sobbed and sobbed as I removed her wet clothes. I think this was the first time she had ever been aware of wetting herself and she did not like it. I put her (thankfully) dry jumper back on and held her tight, she soothed pretty quickly Molly doesn't carry it on as it were. To know I could make it all better made me feel amazing. SO much love.
3. Late nighting it. When we got home after a warm bath she napped and napped and I let her sleep 'til 8! Her bedtime is 7! Jamie was out so we had a girly snuggle downstairs for an hour with some milk and weetabix for supper. We listened to Ben Howard and danced around the (tidy!) living room and she finally went up at about 9. Having an hour just the two of us in the evening reminded me of the sporadic schedule we had when she was a newborn. We used to dance for hours back then because, well, she loved to hear me sing :) (hehe, if you've ever heard me sing you'll be sure to know she is my ONLY fan!). I spent the rest of the night feeling pretty good with a glass of Rosé and an episode of Poirot, it's a mommas life but I love it! And I'm kind of excited to get uni done and move on to the next chapter. Bigger house/lots of babies.
All in all friday was a pretty good day.. and I think Jamie should have all fridays off!

Molly's Diary.

As Mummy promised, the lakeside snaps of me and mummy :)
How cute do I look with my scrunchy face on the first picture?
I think I'm adorable. For example, last night, I fell asleep cuddling Thumper!
I think he's my favourite, I like kissing him more than Mummy hehe.
I swear I get cuter everyday!

Hope you liked my post,
Love Molly xx

Miss Mox Got The Pox.

Poor Molly has Chicken Pox :( I discovered a spot this morning on her
forehead and when I took her to her childminders at 8am it turned out her playmate
got them last night! So far they haven't been to bad for her and like the amazing
trooper she is she hasn't let them dampen her spirits! I think she is super happy
she's been able to spend some time with her daddy as he has been kind enough
to take some time off work to look after her while I finish my last week at uni,
exams and hand-ins are looming! I have 9000 words to write ASAP! Eeek.
Impeccable timing though to get the dreaded pocks while I get some time off.
I'm so glad I can really focus on taking care for her. Well done Molly!

She had a lovely long bath this afternoon to soothe her, you can just about see the big
nasty pock I spotted on her forehead. A few more have appeared and I've been putting
on some chamomile ointment as we go. We've been dressing her in nice soft clothes that
rub as little as possible and as soon as I found out before I drove home I grabbed her some
of her favourite snacks, a new toy to cheer her up and some special soft sun hats so that she
can spend some time outside with her daddy during their day together.

If you have any suggestions to help make this time as easy for her as possible I'd really appreciate
hearing them :) Thankyou.

Over and out from the Pox-Roberts household!

Happy Mothers Day.

Last Sunday was my second Mothering Sunday,
we had a pretty relaxed day, bought a chicken and had a picnic together on the floor with a french stick.
Mother's day number 2 has got me thinking about time. Since having Molly there has been a few birthdays in the family, a christmas, countless sleepless nights, a few bumps, a few more snotty noses, a lot of kisses and even more cuddles. And it's gone worryingly fast. I can't believe these photo's were taken last summer. She could only just roll then. Now she's climbing the stairs in record time and almost read to walk! She just needs a little more confidence then we're really in for the fun. Am I really going to have a toddler? Am I really a mother? Sometimes I don't feel any 'different' to before Molly was here, but underneath that things really have changed. When I wake up the first thing I think of isn't that I need to brush my teeth, but of Molly. Is she ok? Did she sleep well, what shall we do for breakfast, what would make her smile today?
My heart now has a constant ache, I worry about everything. Sometimes I cry.
When I hold her I feel that earthquake of tremendous love. It makes my chest sore, my stomach cramp and my arms tighten. I feel like we're one. And I hope this feeling never goes away. It reminds me how special she is and how to never take her for granted. I'm constantly told how she will at somepoint become a horror because so far she's been so good. And how I will lose patience. And I know this is another part of being a mother. But so far it hasn't happened, I haven't wanted to run away or bang my head against a wall. All I feel is an excruciating amount of love and I hope this remains. And if I can stay two steps ahead of her next want then we're half way there.
Bring on the toddler I say, bring on the tantrums!
I'm a momma and I can do anything.

Yay! My Mothers day Sunflower is growing :)

DONT FORGET TO SET THE ISO!!

During my blogger mini-break, I took some pictures of Molly and I one afternoon when we were bored.
Stupidly I hadn't set the ISO, but rather than get upset I like to think they look a bit arty..
Jamie says they just look rubbish ha!

Either way they're going in Molly's scrapbook.
I bought one for 'baby Roberts' when we found out I was pregnant.
I love the cover, it's from Paprechase, but the pages are black which I don't really like.
I stuck in her first scans and wrote little details in silver pen and I wrote her a letter when she was six months old,
I've pasted in a few pictures but I just don't like the black/silver vibe.
The only reason I started it was because I liked the cover.
SO what I might do is find another today with white or cream paper and type what I'd written previously on the typewriter and stick them in like that.
It will look nicer. And they'll be the same words, just copied out.
My sketchbook indecisiveness needs to stop, I talk about scrapbooking more than I scrap!

We're off to town this afternoon after Molly has finished her fruit lunch.
I need to re-enrol at uni for next year and get my new glasses! Eep.
THEN best of all we get to see Aunty Zoe!
She is my heart, and she lives in Manchester so her visits are a treat.
I'm also wearing peach jeans!
Bright colours and lipsticks are currently making me very happy despite this awful weather.
I hope it cheers up soon.

Also, Sunday is mothers day! My second as a mother- how exciting!

Ten Things I've Been Enjoying Lately.

1. Family weekends, I can't stress enough how wonderful it is spending every evening with Jamie and every weekend together the three of us. (Prior to his current job his hours were unpredictable and there were just too many late nights for a family, I'm so proud of him).
2. A tub of cookie-dough a night..
3. Jamie's new glasses. Very sexy.
4. Taking a break from blogging, I apologize for my absence but I just needed to switch off my laptop for a bit. I'd recommend it to anyone who begins to find their blog brings more anxiety than pleasure. Hello to my lovely new followers, I hope to be back on schedule now. A breather was just what I needed :)
5. Painted nails, oddly they make me feel more productive and clean.
6. Waking up five minutes earlier and bringing Molly to bed for a cuddle with us. This has happened a lot recently and it's lovely, this morning was full of impromptu kisses! Usually I have to beg!
7. Letting myself be twenty-one. It's important to have a night out once in a while, no matter how old you are.
8. Visiting my sister in her new home. I'm so proud and happy for her, it's beautiful. A perfect house for a perfect family :)
9. Watching Molly play with her toys, she is so independent!
10. Finally, University. Feeding my brain and working towards something, I feel so GOOD when I hand in an assignment.

I have so much to write about I don't know where to start! But I also have an intimidating pile of washing, clean and dirty so I'd better hop to it..

Illness has struck!

Molly and I are rather poorly, so we had a morning of relaxing (ie Mummy ignored the washing again and played instead!) and in the afternoon we nipped out to get a few bits done. I think I'm feeling sympathy illness for Jess!

This is Molly's new flavour of the month, Daniel. Yes Daniel the cross dressing bear! My mum bought him for Molly's first birthday and made him this delightful dress?! At least Molly will grow up accepting of all dress wearers. Her previous favourite, Tatty Rab got lost durning Zara's rather violent children's January sale! I was heartbroken, let's hope Daniel has a better time..

Something For The Weekend.

This weekend has been a busy one.
I have mostly been doing this,,

And organising the house, with a little fun in Molly's room of course :)
I think it's my favourite space, I wish I slept there!!

Some of Molly's birthday gifts.

Molly and Daddy did this,,

I got some shots in front of Molly's Birthday Banner to go in her Birthday book!
It may not of been on the day of her party, but she's in her birthday Leicester kit :)
(Her mullet brings me joy everyday, but I'm not sure how much she'll appreciate the 70's footballer jokes when I get these out for her first boyfriend!!)
Teaching her to high five and make American Indian calls is the best thing we've done so far..
-As well as say Mamma!! YAY!
Daddy has been a star this weekend looking after Molly while mummy types away.
I'm not going to lie, after todays hand-in I am very much looking forward to graduating.
I'm sure I won't be saying that when the world of work creeps up on me!

Mint And Moustaches.

'We' don't celebrate Valentines..
We did our food shop instead!
But Molly and Mummy made daddy a card for his desk,
Mummy painted her nails to match,
And took a few photos.
Middle or side parting?
-Now my fringe has grown out I get to choose!

Here's Molly's first Valentines ever!
It all feels like it was yesterday.
What would I of said to myself this time last year?
Save some money.
Relax about the cake, you're not going to suddenly get fat.
Don't sweat the washing!
..but don't leave it for a week either!
Enjoy bed days, have more!
Sniff Molly and sleep next to her as much as you can.
Time really does fly,
Relish it.
